Oklahoma

Oklahoma provides many big game seasons for hunters of all interests. Hunters and trappers can choose from deer, elk, antelope, and bear. Or, they can hunt during other seasons including turkey, migratory birds, waterfowl, and small game. Each of these seasons is broken down further into specific species, time of year, and weaponry used.

To safely and legally participate in Oklahoma hunting season, all hunters must follow license requirements by the type of game hunted and the chosen weaponry. There is a wide range of resident hunting licenses as well as options for non-residents. License exemptions are also available to landowners, hunters with a disability, hunters under the age of 16, and more.

All hunters 30 years old and younger must complete a state hunter education course to receive their license. Hunters must complete the education course and online testing to become eligible for an Oklahoma hunting license.

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation manages areas throughout the state for hunting, fishing, photography, horseback riding, and more. Learn more about where to hunt in these managed areas and how to prepare for hunting season through their website.
