Kansas

Whether you are interested in hunting small game, deer, or other wildlife, there is a hunting season for any resident or nonresident Kansas hunter to partake in. From youth seasons to specific seasons for deer, antelope, migratory birds, small game, and more, virtually any passionate hunter can participate in this beloved pastime. And, these seasons are further broken down by early and late season, area, and what type of weapon is being used for hunting.

Hunters who reside in the state of Kansas between the age of 16 and 74 are required to have a resident hunting license. Those aged 65 to 74 must have at least a hunting or fishing license, if not both. A variety of licenses are available, ranging from resident, nonresident, and senior licences to licenses differentiated by the game hunted.

State-approved traditional hunter education courses are available for any hunter over the age of 11. Hunters aged 16 and up can also take a free online course provided by the NRA, the Kansas Wildlife and Parks, and the Kansas Hunter Education. This comprehensive course teaches essential information to help new hunters safely enjoy hunting season.
